My first encounter with the Brussels Griffon Breed was years ago. While working a flight as an attendant a passenger had opened their pet carrier and out popped the most expressive beautiful face on an animal that I had ever seen! The rest of the flight I pampered this furry new friend of mine who was not only beautiful but had a personality to match.
Since, I have been captivated by this breed. I am fortunate to live in the sunny Okanagan of British Columbia where I am a member of the Shuswap Kennel Club.
I am also a member of the Canadian Kennel Club, the American Brussels Griffon Association and the National Brussels Griffon Club.
I am involved in conformation, obedience and tracking. But, what I mostly love is spending time with my pack whether it is boating, nature walks, fishing, travelling or camping or just lazing around the homestead.
I am currently exhibiting in the US and Canada: Adamis All In (Allie) Am/Can CH Gingersnap Krakle Pop (Stella), CH Gingersnap Jamaican Me Crazy (Marley) & CH Gingersnap Berry Extraordinary (Annie).
I have to thank Keith Jacobson for his friendship and talents that are widespread. He has had the patience to share with me his knowledge in health, movement, type, temperament and of course, grooming. And all in all he has allowed me to find “my own eye” in this incredible breed.
I have been fortunate to be mentored by JoAnn Adamson (Jimijo), and Lyn Ruth (Gingersnap) who have bred beautiful lines in this wonderful breed. I look forward to working with them in continually striving to improve breed type while maintaining soundness in health and temperament.
NEW YEARS Griffons will not sell, co-sign, transfer puppies or adults to pet shops, wholesale dealers, contest sponsors, or people who breed 'pets for the marketplace' or anyone known to degrade the Brussels Griffon breed or purebred dogs by not exhibiting their dogs in the showring according to the Standard set out for the Breed; to individuals breeding and/or selling to the aforementioned.
